I'll overwhelm 'credible fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be shown live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Attitude

"I'm going to break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to really want to hurt him. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of such comments, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally known for his dramatics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, at the same time, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Nevertheless, the novice is still one of boxing's biggest financial successes, frequently receiving huge earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the customary face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the match is actually going ahead.
