A Pair of Detentions in the Aftermath of Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

This incident caused the partial shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

Two more people are now in custody related to a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

The arrests follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, two women were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was one of the injured during the incident. Five people went to hospital for medical care and were later released.

Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault near the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Police were alerted at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals hurt by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - which police said was isolated and not considered an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
